There are 62 tribal groups recognised and residing in Odisha. Among them, Kondhas are one of the largest groups of tribes in Odisha.They are largely found in Koraput. And the Dongria Kondh tribe is found in the Niyamgiri Hills.
In this episode of People of Our Forest, we are exploring the lives of two tribal groups of Odisha, through the eyes of Kavya Saxena, who is living and working with these communities. And is crafting culture in a way that empowers the tribes. “I really feel that native knowledge is so crucial, especially in times like today, when we are seeing the visible slow changes of climate that is happening around the planet, the aspects of sustainability”, says Kavya.
