In this episode of Conservation Conversation, we explore the vast kingdom of fungi. Fungi and climate change are related in many ways. Some fungi will adapt to an interchanging world and will continue to the flows and fluxes of life thriving. While some others in symbiosis with plants capture and store carbon from the atmosphere. It is this interesting existence of fungi that Giuliana Furci, a field mycologist from Santiago, Chile, explores through her organisation, Fungi Foundation.

Giuliana Furci believes, in order to break misconceptions around fungi, one needs to learn and understand. “Without fungi, plants and animals can’t live. And if we don’t preserve the fungi, then really most of the efforts to preserve plants and animals could be futileâ€_x009d_, adds Furci.
