According to the monthly data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), retail sales of e-rickshaws in India increased by 89% in February 2023 as compared to the same month a year ago.

Driving this growth story is Nibha Devi Kumari from Dimna Road Mango in Jamshedpur. She started driving an e-rickshaw to supplement her family’s meager income. But when her husband lost his private job last year, she became the sole earning member of a family of four. Today she earns close to Rs 500 daily and is an inspiration for women empowerment.
