On our show 'People of Our Forest', where we focus on individuals and communities who are living in pristine and enriched biodiversity, and safeguarding it for the future generations, we have a story from the land of seven sisters of northeast India, Arunachal Pradesh.

This is the story of Shaleena Phinya, a young woman, who hails from the Bugun community. She is the lone woman from her community who has been patrolling the deep, dark forests to protect Bugun Liocichla an endangered bird species. Shaleena is also a storyteller and wildlife filmmaker, who is creating awareness about the importance of preserving rich culture, and biodiversity of her community with the help of her camera lens. Watch this amazing tale of courage, and culture.
