According to a UN report, about 40 per cent of food produced gets wasted every year in India due to an inefficient supply chain system.
“This scenario where on one hand there is excess food available and on the other people are dying of hunger, is not acceptable. We need to merge them. Why isn’t there any communication regarding these issuesâ€_x009d_, says Varun Raheja, Founder, Raheja Solar Food Processing based out of Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
In this episode of Off grid, we look at the journey of this startup and how it solved this problem, by making solar dryer which is the world’s most affordable and portable system and helping farmers to dry up their produce instead of throwing it away.
