Nyombi Morris is an Ugandan climate activist and CEO of ‘Earth Volunteer’. Floods have devastated Uganda’s eastern Butaleja district, where Morris lived.

Nyombi says, “Climate change disproportionately affect women and girls. When flood occurs, women and mostly girls are the first who are sent out to go and maybe going to marry because that is the only way the family can maintain their survival.”

“My main focus is mostly on protecting the forests, because I realise we cannot have any more new forests. These forests that are already available are enough for us to survive,” Nyombi concludes.
