In October 2022, a group of citizens from Chennai including students, academia, and professionals got together for ‘City Sessions: The Future’ to brainstorm about the climate issues of the city. Organised by LetMeBreathe and Climate Trends, the 50-odd participants divided into five groups with an assigned mentor each, looked at the possible solutions that can be adopted as short-term and long-term measures to handle the key five climate issues of the city.

On January 11, these solutions around managing the water crisis, wet bulb temperature, energy crisis, river encroachment, and urban mobility, were presented to Sreeram Srinivasan, Chief Project Director, Tamil Nadu Green Climate Company who lauded the engagement and solutions put forward. TNGCC is a state government-run initiative and Srinivasan welcomed everyone to keep the dialogue open with his organisation to take some of the suggestions forward. Two teams and their leads got a notable mention. Swathi, one of the participants from the water crisis team, has been invited with her solution to discuss the feasibility of an aerated tap fixture for the next level of execution.
