According to the UN, three consecutive failed rainy seasons in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia, decimated crops and caused abnormally high livestock deaths, while, shortages of water and pasture are forcing families from their homes and triggering conflict between communities.
Youth champion Donnley Clive urges world leaders to take action to tackle loss and damage and climate change.
"Communities that are highly vulnerable to climate change impacts in Kenya are the same communities that are prone to experiencing loss and damage beyond what they can adapt to," says Donnley Clive.
