Ever wondered how plastic waste can be upcycled and made into trendy stuff? Here is one such story for you.

Aditya Gupta, an entrepreneur from Delhi has been involved in manufacturing beautiful rugs out of the waste PET bottles that we usually throw away after a single use. Gupta says that the company makes rugs out of not only recycled pet bottles, but also recycled fabric, recycled denim, recycled rubber from bicycle tubes, recycled leather from the waste materials of the leather accessories industry. “Our business of floor fashion has inspired us to work in a way which it's not only market appropriate, but planet appropriate.â€_x009d_

Gupta’s company, Rug Republic based out of Delhi, the capital city of India, exports to 85 countries. “We are trying actively and going for it, actually examining pretty much the global arena to get the right sources. (This is) to avoid as far as possible, fresh resources from mother earth. To cut down, all our factories are solar powered now. So 75 percent of the power we are using is actually solar. We don't use that much power, that's true, but still whatever we are using is solar (power),â€_x009d_ says Gupta.
