Is recycling a major part of the solution?

I am sure almost all of us have heard the 5 R’s of the waste management system that is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair and Rot if not 5 then these 3 R’s for sure (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).

Recycle, Reuse, Recycling, Recyclable, Symbol, Reused

If all of these used together a lot of waste management issues can be curbed but can we say that recycling alone can play a major part?

According to the research we can only recycle 40% of the waste (by collecting it and separating it into containers) which is again an individual’s step, it totally depends upon that individual if he wants to separate his waste or not unless he is willing to take action.

The depletion of the natural resource of raw material is inevitable when its global consumption by the economy grows by more than 1% per annum. Recycling can delay for some years or decades at best.

So, what exactly is the solution apart from asking individuals to take one step towards reducing or recycling and the answer I believe is equal awareness among the society to make people aware about not just one step of the process but the whole process and the interconnectedness in between the each step of the process so that they can decide their individual significance themselves, the second solution which I feel to be just as important is the accessibility of the waste management organizations and their active actions and solutions to segregate waste.

Not just one but the society together is the solution.
