Under the category of ‘Government & Citizen Engagement’, letmebreathe.in was announced as the winner of mBillionth Award.
The mBillionth Award is the leading platform to recognize and honour excellence in mobile innovations, applications and content services for public good, in South Asia, organized by the Digital Empowerment Foundation and the World Summit Award.
For the 11th edition, a total of 185 nominations across 10 categories from different countries across South Asia were received during the pandemic such as Croplytics- stie-specific advisory and crop monitoring app, “Machli” AI based Mobile application for Marine Fisher Folk, Reliance Foundation and Oxfam India.
Out of which, 31 initiatives were selected after the first round of screening for the final evaluation by the Jury.
It won due to its unbiased climate movements through campaigns such
as #CleanAirBharat with UNEP which occupied over 14 million Indians on the first-ever international day of clean air for blue skies. It provides space to document and tell unbiased stories of living and surviving air pollution, climate change and highlights positive stories on sustainability– by simply using their phones.
The 11th edition of the Award event announcement is being made on May 17, 2021.
The Jury held in March 2021 in a virtual mode due to Covid 19 pandemic, to identify and select the winners and special mentions was presided over by an expert group from academia, industry, civil society and innovation domain.
