Air quality in Delhi NCR has turned severe again as winters approach, after a few months of clean and blue skies due to the coronavirus lockdown.

With economic and industrial activities picking up and vehicles back on the road in full swing, air quality could get even worse.

Tracking Air Quality Index (AQI) everyday becomes really important here and if it's okay to step out of the house at a particular time of the day.

Environmental Activist, Jai Dhar Gupta tells us all about the air quality forecast every day and what activities you can do depending on it.

4th November 2020

"It's going to be ok if you open your doors & windows or go for a walk between 5 to 7 pm. But the AQI will get severe again tonight."

"From 7 am to 3 pm, air quality is going to be in the very unhealthy range."

"All the pollutants tomorrow, on Monday, the 2nd of November are all local. Best time to be outdoors or open your doors and windows is till 4 pm to 7 pm. That's been kind of a consistent story from the past few weeks. Again, not good conditions. Limit your exposure, protect yourself. be safe everyone."

Till 2 pm, it is going to be severe and then the wind is looking like it is gonna disperse stuff and make it right down to an AQI of 150-180 levels by late afternoon"

'The worst of it is going to come from 9 AM until about noon. The only time of the day that I advise people to step out or have any kind of activity is going to be again from 4 PM to 7 PM. That is also going to be the time that I recommend you open your doors and windows and ventilate your homes.'

28th October 2020:

The forecast is winds are slowing down a bit. So, till 1 pm, it is going to be very severe. Higher levels today, about 10-15%. No activity recommended for the morning, at least until 1 pm. (stay home)
