Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched the ‘Green Delhi’ mobile application using which citizens can bring pollution causing activities to the Government’s notice.

The Chief Minister said the Government wants to involve everyone in the fight against pollution as no big change can take place without the support of people .

Here’s how the ‘Green Delhi’ app work:

1. Citizens can click pictures or make a video of pollution causing activities, such as burning of garbage, industrial pollution, dust etc.

2. They can then upload the pictures and videos on the application and it will identify the location.

3. The complaint will be automatically forwarded to the concerned department for time-bound redressal.

“We have prepared strict timelines for each type of complaint. The departments concerned will also have to post a picture after the complaint is addressed”, Kejriwal said.

All the concerned departments will be connected with the app, and the complaints received will automatically reach them. The failure to address the issue on time will result in action against the concerned nodal officers.

Kejriwal said 70 ‘green marshals’ will also be deployed in areas of the city to help address the complaints made through the application.

“We want everyone to come together through this application, be it MCDs, Delhi government or the Delhi Development Authority, along with citizens, and combat air pollution together,” the CM said.

The application can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
