With air quality improving and everything remains quiet due to the nationwide lockdown, more birds are coming back to the neighborhoods, making it the best time for people to observe, capture and listen to them.

In India, a total of around 1301 species of birds are found, out of which 42 are endemic to the Indian subcontinent and the rest of others are Introduced and accidental species.

The birds include a large variety of unique and rare species of birds including Great Indian Hornbill, Great Indian Bustard, Green Avadavat and sunbirds.

As part of Let Me Breathe’s on going campaign, #BalconyBirding, people have clicked pictures of birds in their backyards/terrace and shared it with us.

Day 1 of #BalconyBirding saw some amazing discoveries! Many birders shared breathtaking pictures of many birds which we commonly don’t notice in our normal everyday lives. Here are the names of them:
