WHO’s report, “Air Pollution and Child Health: Prescribing Clean Air”, estimates that 600,000 children died from acute lower respiratory infections caused by polluted air in 2016. The stories of Coal Couture are compiled from some of the most polluted coal mining and industrial neighbourhoods, where children are bearing the cost of this development.
